Privacy Practice Principal

TITLE: Privacy Practice Principal, Information Governance Professional Service
LOCATION: Remote (Any US Metro Area)
A Principle in Information Governance Consulting builds strategic, long-term accounts to manage and develop the information governance and digital transformation business within those clients.  In addition to the sales and business development responsibilities, Principles are also expected to lead engagements, be highly-involved in practice leadership, driving thought and solution development, oversee management of their practices and mentor consultants who report to them.
The Principle will sell and lead privacy engagements across the portfolio of Information Governance Professional Services including:
  • Information Governance assessments, strategies, roadmaps, organizational design and program design and implementation spanning the disciplines of records management, law, privacy, information security and information technology
  • Content Classification and ROT remediation of paper and electronic content (both unstructured and structured sources) including providing these as managed services
  • Records Retention Schedule development and records management policy and program development
  • Proprietary and business partner software
  • Staff Augmentation
Responsibilities Include:
  • Meets or exceeds assigned revenue targets by seeking out and identifying new information governance and digital transformation revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients
  • Develops and delivers insightful, value-added proposals that address complex client issues
  • Partner with other internal leaders across our capability areas to design and sell information governance and digital transformation programs
  • Develop new client relationships through various means with support from internal sales and executive teams
  • Build and maintain sustainable client executive relationships through high-quality delivery;  ensure results, exceed client expectations, and be a trusted advisor and partner
  • Manage scope, risks, results, schedule, and profitability to deliver successful projects
  • Deliver C-level presentations, driving actions and decisions
  • Coach and develop junior consultants through on-the-job training
Practice Leadership
  • Oversee the management of their practice, including utilization, deliverable acceptance, and invoicing
  • Support the leadership and development of our people through people management and training
  • Develop our business by applying experience and topical knowledge to thought leadership and offering development
  • Communicate and market thought leadership via broader sector forums, such as speaking engagements, trade publications, and other print media
  • Partner with other internal leaders to grow the Iron Mountain brand 
  • Across the IG domains of records management, privacy, security, information technology and eDiscovery/legal hold, on a scale of 1 to 5, be at least a 3 in all and a 5 in privacy.
  • Able to build multi-year Information Governance roadmaps across different Information Governance domains including records management, information technology, information security, privacy and legal hold
  • Able to drive IG strategy through design, and implementation, acting as a trusted advisor to client cross-functional teams
  • Understands modern enterprise information technology including enterprise content management, cloud, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and database archiving.
  • Hands-on skills with tools for remediating redundant, trivial and obsolete data and content in enterprise applications and repositories
  • Managed a minimum of $4-5 million/year in consulting/solutions services revenue, meeting established profitability and utilization targets
  • Supported business development activities, providing responsible consulting delivery leadership in discovering and shaping opportunities, solution development, proposal generation, and deal closing stages
  • Led consulting engagements, managing client expectations, and engagement staffing, issues and risks, contract change control, internal operational processes
  • Developed Information Governance strategies
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years information management industry consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience, plus JD, MLIS and/or professional industry certifications, such as Certified Records Manager (CRM) Information Governance Professional (IGP), or MLS (Master of Library Science) is preferred
