Position Summary: As Lead Software Engineer you will play a key role in the design development and programming of document and content management software products. Your software engineering skills will be used to create new software products as well as develop upgrades and new modules for existing solutions and product suites. You will be involved in all phases of development activities throughout the product life cycle. The ability to interact with clients, understand the dynamics of business processes and expertly convert business requirements into outstanding software product design is one of your talents.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop best in class web-based enterprise and B2B document and content management solutions.
Involved in the entire product development lifecycle including conceptual design of new products, prototyping, as well as design, development, QA, release and ongoing development and enhancement.
 
Provide engineering support to sales and services groups
 
Consult with clients, development partners, other engineering staff and product marketing to evaluate and develop product/project specifications and manage implementation and product deployment projects.
 
Establish close and effective working relationships with flagship accounts and development partners.
 
Prepare project plans, budgets and timetables for assigned projects and products. Works together with sales on project estimates and proposals for client funded work.
 
Design and coding activities in Java-Spring Will technology stack, direct and review the engineering and technical work of others.
 
Effectively manage project activities and teams to assure performance against time to market, budget, and product specification goals.
 
Manage projects in accordance with defined processes and procedures for product development and design. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of effective and efficient development and project management methodologies.
 
Manage alpha and beta software testing process to assure products and enhancements perform to specification prior to release.

Technical Skills
3 – 6 years of software development experience in Java. Experience in C, Visual Basic and object oriented design, UML, XML, Source code configuration management, SQL.
Must be proficient in Spring Framework, Web Services, REST API, JSR168 and at least one commercial portal product such as WebSphere or Vignette and one open source portal product such as JBOSS.
Proficient in all aspects of n-tier application development using Java, application server and relational databases. Includes expertise in J2EE design patterns, servlets, JSP, Swing, EJBs, JSF, Struts, XML, JDBC, HTML, UML and JavaScript.
In-depth knowledge of Enterprise applications and the client server environment. (Windows and Unix)
Working knowledge of database technologies and basic queries including Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL.
Web application infrastructure & design, JSP, JDBC, J2EE, OOA, OOD, HTML, Javascript, and XML, code re-factoring, performance profiling & analysis, familiarity with JUnit (or similar regression test technology).
Strong experience in security applications, authentication methodology and user identification and networking access controls such as NTLM, LDAP, or Active Directory.
Demonstrated hands-on technical leadership skills with a can-do attitude and ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
 
Education & Experience
Masters in Computer Software Engineering or equivalent discipline.
